Mike Ringquist and Marcus Santos are combining their drumming and life experiences in a visual journey through the language of ethnic hand percussion.This unconventional percussion duo performs a new approach to world rhythms while blending styles such as Hip Hop, Brazilian Avaninha and Cuban Makuta.

Metro Bar is a video and audio performance. Video images projected onto a screen on stage are both educational and for entertainment purposes. The audience is also engaged during the presentation to further enhance their experience as they become part of the show!

Mike and Marcus will explain in an interactive way the many challenges of blending different rhythms together while showcasing the world’s rhythmic diversity. Music examples, technical demonstrations, discussion of instruments and orchestration points will be presented through live demonstrations and with the application of play along tracks.
